I look forward to learning more about where I live. I already know that the Midwest is by The Great Lakes. The Midwest has over 65 million people living in it.

Chapter 8 interests me by learning more about the Great Lakes and the way they connect to the ocean. I also know very little about North and South Dakota so learning about the dinosaur days is interesting.

I look forward to learning about the badlands in the Great Plains. I like learning about dinosaur fossils. I already know that corn and soybeans are grown in the state we live in.

I was looking forward to learning more about the locks and how engineers built them. I think it’s cool that they build gates that can work under water, raise and lower the water to let boats in and out of the canals and rivers.

In this chapter I am interested in learning about the Badlands of South Dakota. It’s a national park and I would like to visit there one day with my family. I also like the name of it.

I am excited to learn about the great lakes. I want to learn about what kind of animals live in the great lakes and how big they are. I also want to learn how the Great Lakes connect to the oceans and how deep all the rivers go. I already know that there are only five Great Lakes.

I know that I live in the Midwest and that I have already been to Lake Michigan. I also know that all five Great Lakes are in the Midwest. The Midwest makes a lot of goods that are sent on boats and trains so that the food can get to other places that doesn't make a lot of goods

I am looking forward to learning all about the Great Lakes. I know that while the Midwest is mostly flat, there are interesting places to visit. I enjoy places like Milwaukee, St. Louis, Minneapolis, New Buffalo, and Indiana Dunes. I really enjoy the Midwest and having most of my family very close.

I know that farming is very important to the Midwest region. I live in the Midwest. Water is very important for farming to be good. I look forward to learning about the badlands because I’ve never heard of them.

The Midwest is America’s heartland and our area. I’m excited to learn about what makes us important. I like that Illinois is featured in the picture. I like the Great Lakes. My mom told me, no matter where you are in the country, news people are trained in a Midwest dialect.
